Just an optimal selection for a city break in Edinburgh with best value. The location was fantastic, right between the Royal Mile and the train station. For breakfast, go to the restaurant instead of the executive lounge for a much better selection.

Charming historic architecture, impressive views from certain guest rooms, efficient parking and shuttle services
Complicated room layouts could use improvement for better navigation!!! noise insulation fell short, as sounds from outside and within disturbed the peace during our stay!!!

The lobby has a charming, classic feel that sets a welcoming tone, and the fitness center is well-equipped, making it easy to stick to a routine while traveling. The rooms boast large windows that let in plenty of natural light, creating a bright and airy atmosphere for unwinding after a day of exploring.
Noticed a few uneven areas on the floor which creaked with every step, a nod to the hotel’s age that some might find charming while others might see it as a minor inconvenience. A slight exhaust odor occasionally seeped through, likely from outside, which was more evident when the heating kicked in but manageable if you adjusted the climate control. the 'city view' description felt a bit misleading. don't expect much to write home about there. A bit more attention to room details, like ensuring all amenities functioned properly, would elevate the overall experience significantly.

Had a lovely time here! The breakfast had a great spread of fresh fruits and hot food, and I really enjoyed unwinding in the spacious room after a long day. While the decor felt a bit outdated, it didn't take away from the overall experience 😊.

missingWrote a review on 11 Marclean roomspacious roomquiet spacesmall bedearly noise
The room was clean and spacious, which was a plus. the bed felt much smaller than a queen, making it tough to sleep comfortably. there was no bath, just a shower, which I really missed after a long day. The noise from the recycling outside woke us up too early, and the extractor fan in the bathroom ran all night. Just a lot of little things that could've made it better.
